partner staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking a motivated Electrical EngineerinTraining (EIT) to join our growing Distribution Utilities team based in our Calgary office. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of power distribution projects including design analysis and project management for residential commercial and industrial developments.
As an EIT you will collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to deliver reliable and sustainable electrical solutions for utility clients.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems (4kV 25kV).
- Conduct load flow analysis voltage drop calculations and fault current studies.
- Prepare singleline diagrams (SLDs) construction packages and bill of materials.
- Support the preparation of project documentation including technical reports and design drawings.
- Coordinate with utility companies municipalities and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Perform site inspections field surveys and asbuilt documentation as required.
- Contribute to improving processes safety and quality standards within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- EngineerinTraining (EIT) designation with a provincial engineering association (e.g. APEGA EGBC).
- Familiarity with utility standards CSA IEEE or similar codes.
- Experience with AutoCAD MicroStation or similar design software.
- Basic knowledge of power system analysis tools (e.g. CYME ETAP).
- Strong analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of utility protection schemes and SCADA systems.
- Understanding of renewable energy integration and distributed generation.
