Grade 5 English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher January 2025 Start
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Grade 5 English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join a committed teaching team. The successful candidate will inspire a love for reading writing and critical thinking while supporting students language development and academic growth.
The school founded in 2016 is a K12 international school located at the foot of the picturesque and historic YuQuan Mountain Haidian District in Beijing. The campus is 200000 square meters of beautiful gardens that integrate natural ecology cultural heritage and modern beauty with 140000 square meters of green space.
The school curriculum is organized into the Elementary School grades K5 the Middle School grades 68 and High School grades 912. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Educations nineyear compulsory education program the curriculum is built on the strength from both Chinese and western education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan develop and deliver engaging ELA lessons aligned with the schools curriculum and standards.
- Foster a positive inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes a love for literature and learning.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to address diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Implement lessons that focus on grammar vocabulary reading comprehension writing and critical analysis.
- Integrate technology and modern instructional tools to enhance learning experiences.
- Assess and evaluate student progress regularly providing constructive feedback to guide improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop crosscurricular learning opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students progress and development.
- Participate in staff meetings professional development sessions and school events.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance performance and behavior.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Education English or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ELA at the elementary or middle school level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of reading and writing pedagogies and ELA curriculum standards.
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
