Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our healthcare team as the Director of Nursing OR. This vital leadership role will focus on assuring excellence in patient care efficient surgical processes and strategic development of the operating room team.
Key Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing OR
- Oversee and manage all clinical and administrative operations within the operating room department.
- Develop and ensure the implementation of policies and procedures that meet high clinical standards and regulatory compliance.
- Lead mentor and empower the nursing team promoting professional development and performance excellence.
- Collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary team members to deliver patientcentered care and achieve optimal surgical outcomes.
- Monitor and analyze departmental performance implementing strategic improvements and managing financial resources effectively.
Schedule and Shift Details
This is a fulltime leadership role requiring flexibility to meet the demands of the operating room with some responsibilities potentially extending into evenings and weekends.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Masters degree in Nursing Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of surgical nursing experience including at least 3 years in a leadership or management position.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
