Job Description

A shipping organization is seeking to hire a Payroll Accountant. Looking for someone who can come in for the remainder of the year and help process payroll through Paycom. If all goes well this position will convert. Ideally looking for a candidate has previous HR experience and is familiar with ACA guidelines has used Paycom and can start right away.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in budgeting processes by providing payrollrelated data.
  • Utilize accounting software including Sage for efficient payroll management.
  • Conduct financial auditing to verify the integrity of payroll data.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage employee benefits and deductions accurately.
  • Prepare reports related to payroll expenses for management review.
  • Support the finance team in various accounting tasks as needed.


Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and accounting functions.
  • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software particularly Sage is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with private equity principles is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights for decisionmaking.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members across departments.
  • A solid understanding of debits credits and financial auditing processes.
