What you will be doing:
- Supervise Maintenance Activities: Manage and supervise all mechanical maintenance activities including the repair and preventative maintenance of underground mining equipment.
- Establish Priorities: Determine maintenance priorities based on equipment criticality production schedules and safety considerations.
- Equipment Repair and PMs: Oversee the repair and maintenance of a wide range of mechanical equipment including conveyors crushers drills and other mining machinery.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies promoting a culture of safety among the maintenance team.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians providing guidance training and performance evaluations.
- Inventory Management: Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components and minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities equipment performance and PM schedules.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements cost savings and increased equipment reliability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience you will need:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or a related mechanical discipline is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor in an industrial environment preferably within the mining or similar heavy industrial sector.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems equipment repair and preventative maintenance programs. Familiarity with underground mining equipment is a plus.
- Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing maintenance teams.
- ProblemSolving: Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Safety Focused: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and promoting a safetyfirst culture.
