Responsibilities:
- Administer medications as prescribed including oral topical and injectable medications.
- Monitor students vital signs (temperature pulse respiration blood pressure).
- Provide routine health screenings and assessments.
- Assist with health education programs and screenings.
- Respond to health emergencies and accidents providing immediate care.
- Document all nursing care and interventions accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with the school nurse and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans for students with chronic health conditions.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians teachers and other school staff regarding student health concerns.
- Participate in school health committees and meetings.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate health records for all students.
- Order and maintain adequate supplies of medications and medical equipment.
- Assist with the development and implementation of school health policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current Maryland LPN license in good standing.
- Experience in pediatric nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
