You will become part of the internal HPC System Engineering team that manages the linux based core infrastructure of the HPC supercomputer. In this role you will as part of the team ensure the proper operation monitoring and enhancement of the Linux infrastructure. You take care of the daily technical management of the Linux infrastructure and its supporting operational services ensuring resilient secure and highquality services. Furthermore thinking the infrastructure forward and driving innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing managing and enhancing linux based supercomputing infrastructures support systems and operational services.
  
• Ensuring the high availability resiliency and security of computing and data services provided to customers troubleshooting and resolving issues and outages.
  
• Monitoring and analyzing system performance identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency.
  
• Reporting on supercomputing platforms utilization performance and availability.
  
• Contributing to the organizational efforts to develop and implement new Cloud interfaces and portals enabling customers to take advantage of supercomputing infrastructures.
  
• Contributing to the departmental efforts to treat Infrastructure as Code designing building and maintaining scalable and efficient CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated testing and deployment strategies.
  
• Writing and maintaining technical documentation and documentation for endusers.
  
• Collaborating with other teams to ensure delivery of highquality services to customers.
  
• Staying up to date with the latest technologies and providing recommendations for process improvements and tooling upgrades.
  

Your profile:

• University degree (Master preferred) in IT computer science computer engineering information technology or a closely related field.
  
• Proven experience in system administration and system engineering of Linux environments in a Admin or System Engineering similar role
  
• Sound understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  
• Strong experience with storage and network filesystems (parallel filesystems experience is an asset).
  
• Handson experience with software defined storage solutions and object storage is an asset.
  
• Handson knowledge of scalable system management tools (e.g. Satellite Foreman xCAT) and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet).
  
• Sound knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus Grafana Icinga OpenSearch/Kibana).
  
• Sound knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python Shell Lua).
  
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural team environment.
  
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is a must. Good control of French and/or German is a plus.
