Your responsibilities:

To expand our Target Characterization group we are currently seeking you as amotivated and innovative Lab Analyst.
You will be an integral member of the group and play an active role in pharmacological target characterization and will participate in efforts to develop and integrate cellfree and/or cellbased functional assays in small molecule screening campaigns to support our targetbased drug discovery process with focus on the areas of unmet therapeutic need such as colon and lung cancer. Based on a good understanding of stateofthe art biochemical and cell biological methods you are expected to contribute to the generation of biochemical tools that effectively enable development of firstinclass therapeutics against a validated target.

Tasks and responsibilities:

In this position you will work >80% in the lab expected to be spent in planning preparation and execution of experimental tasks assigned by a supervising scientist.
You will use Molecular Biology Cell Biology and Biochemical methods in order to:

• generate expression constructs
• express and purify proteins form E.coli including biochemical analysis of such purified proteins
• express and analyse proteins in mammalian cell culture
• prepare buffers and other reagents as required
• Execution of cellfree and cellbased assays
• Writing SoPs Data generation analysis and interpretation
• Preparation and Presentation of Results in internal meetings
• Literature search and keep up to date knowledge on methods
• General lab organization and maintenance of instruments Inventory etc
• Contribution to departmental administration and ensure proper maintenance of records in accordance with policies

Our requirements:

• Masters degree (M.Sc or equivalent) in Biology Biochemistry or related fields
• Previous experience in common cell culture (Bacterial Mammalian) techniques
• Previous experience in Protein purification methods (kta or similar) SDSPAGE and other common biochemical methods is highly desirable
• Previous experience in biophysical methods (for example TSA) for ligand screening is desirable but not essentialExcellent Very good English skills are essential and good German skills are desirable
• Good social and effective communication skills matched with scientific creativity
• Results oriented with attention to detail and exposure/experience with common data analysis software (Prism ImageJ etc)
• Willing to learn ability to perform in a fastpaced environment
