Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hillingdon to assist with the appointment of a Principal Building Control Surveyor on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 45.68 58.00 per Hour
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that domestic and commercial building control submissions are processed without exception within the statutory time periods and aim to always bring applications into conformity with a view to reducing the number of rejections and resubmissions.
- To record construction details and inspections of work carried out under The Building Regulations.
- To liaise with the relevant Fire Authority (London Fire Brigade) on applications in relation to the Building Regulations including the Building Safety Act.
- To investigate unauthorised work and take appropriate action including prosecuting contraventions as necessary and have any Notice served by the Council upheld by a court.
- Ensure the provision of a dangerous structures service including an out of hours response. Inspect dangerous structures and where necessary take action as defined in Council/Departmental policy or in accordance with established working practice.
Qualifications:
- A degree in building control/building construction/surveying
- Evidence of continuing professional development including the registration requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 (Registered up to Class 2F)
- Experience of processing building control applications on domestic and commercial projects
