Hello All
Were in search of a Fabrication Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of the fabrication department ensuring projects are completed efficiently on time and within budget. This role involves leading and mentoring shop foremen optimizing production schedules and maintaining strong communication with engineering sales and project management teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fabrication strong leadership skills and a proven ability to improve processes and uphold safety standards.
Job Title: Fabrication Shop Manager
Salary: 90k 110k
Reports to: Precast Manager
Essential Functions:
- Lead the daily operations of the fabrication department ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Provide guidance and support to the Wood and Metal Shop Foremen.
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer deadlines while improving efficiency in the shop.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to review and execute fabrication drawings and specifications accurately.
- Oversee the procurement of materials ensuring quality standards are met while managing costs effectively.
- Enforce safety protocols and lead safety training programs to maintain a safe work environment for all staff.
- Ensure proper maintenance and upgrades of fabrication equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Serve as the communication bridge between the fabrication team and other departments (sales design and project management) to keep projects aligned with organizational goals.
- Continuously explore and implement new fabrication methods and technologies to enhance product quality lower costs and improve overall operations.
Knowledge Abilities & Skills for Success:
- Strong understanding of technical plans blueprints and design tools required for precise fabrication.
- Extensive experience with various types of wood and metal including proficiency in welding fabricating and cutting techniques using equipment like CNC plasma laser and waterjet machinery.
- Ability to calculate measurements accurately and apply them to fabrication tasks.
- Ensure the shop operates in full compliance with safety regulations company policies and applicable laws.
- Proficiency in using basic computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word Excel) CNC software and CAD viewers.
- Effective leadership skills and the ability to communicate clearly with team members and other departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 10 years of experience in fabrication with a strong track record of managing shop floor operations.
- Certified Welder with extensive handson experience.
- Ability to operate a wide range of fabrication equipment and quickly learn any unfamiliar machinery.
