Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Training and Development Strategy

    • Design Learning Programs: Develop, implement, and manage training programs that align with the organization’s goals, ensuring they meet the needs of the business and the employees.
    • Curriculum Design: Create training curricula that support skill development, compliance, leadership development, and career progression within the organization.
    • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and enhance existing learning materials and programs based on feedback and changing business needs.
  • Training Delivery and Facilitation

    • Facilitate Training Sessions: Lead and deliver training programs, either in-person or virtually, for new and existing employees. This may include orientation, skills training, leadership development, and compliance training.
    • Use of Training Technologies: Leverage Learning Management Systems (LMS), eLearning tools, and digital platforms to deliver training, ensuring a diverse and flexible approach.
    • Ensure Engagement: Use various instructional techniques (e.g., case studies, role-playing, simulations) to keep employees engaged and maximize learning retention.
  • Employee Skill Assessment and Performance Monitoring

    • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Assess the impact of training through feedback, testing, and post-training performance assessments. Make data-driven decisions to improve learning programs.
    • Identify Skills Gaps: Work with department heads and team leaders to identify skill gaps, and design programs to address these areas.
    • Track Progress: Monitor employee progress, performance improvements, and overall growth as a result of training programs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Work with Senior Leadership: Collaborate with leadership to understand the strategic goals of the organization and align training programs accordingly. Provide insights and recommendations for organizational development.
    • Liaise with Managers: Work closely with department heads and managers to identify team-specific training needs and tailor programs that support department objectives.
    • Cross-Departmental Support: Partner with HR, marketing, operations, and other departments to ensure training initiatives support business functions and improve employee performance.
  • Learning and Development Administration

    • Manage Training Logistics: Oversee the logistical aspects of training delivery, including scheduling sessions, managing venues (physical or virtual), and ensuring necessary resources are available.
    • Maintain Training Records: Ensure proper documentation of training activities, participation, certifications, and assessments. Maintain an up-to-date record of training materials.
    • Budgeting for L&D Programs: Assist in managing the training budget, ensuring that programs are cost-effective, and monitoring expenses related to learning initiatives.

Desired candidate profile

  • University Degree/Diploma – preference given to Human Resources/Development or business-related
  • Essential to have comprehensive knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Have working experience as a Training/Learning Manager or Assistant Training Manager (preferably in a Hyatt hotel)
  • Have understanding for managing a Hyatt brand in the service industry.
  • Experience of working in hotel-related operational positions would be a useful benefit
  • Able to perform detailed and accurate Training Needs Analysis and market the need for Training
  • Have experience in developing detailed skills-training materials and working with colleagues to address operational training
  • Possess an appreciation for working with multi-cultural workforces of differing levels of education
  • Possess the potential for advancement and development in Human Resources Management
