Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare federal and multistate tax returns including business partnerships individual notforprofit and trust returns.
- Review and prepare annual tax provisions and tax planning calculations for estimate and extension purposes.
- Research complex tax matters summarize results and propose resolutions.
- Monitor and communicate legislative and regulatory tax law developments.
- Supervise and train members of the tax team.
- Develop and sustain strong client relationships.
- Respond to client inquiries and taxing authorities.
- Perform other accounting and tax duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications: We are looking for a motivated and reliable professional with the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in accounting or a related field (required).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred but not required).
- At least six years of prior experience in public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and recent regulatory updates.
- Proficiency in software programs such as QuickBooks Desktop/Online Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and tax software like CCH ProSystem FX or Axcess Tax and Caseware (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
- Ability to analyze problems logically and comprehensively and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Capability to work effectively in both team and independent environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and discretion in handling sensitive/confidential matters.
- Stable work history and experience working with midsized companies (LLC SCorp) and highnetworth individuals/trusts.
- Handson approach with a willingness to manage and coach interns parttimers and junior associates.
- A minimum of five years of private accounting experience ideally with midsized CPA/Accounting firms.
Nice to Have:
- CPA license especially for candidates seeking longterm growth and partnership opportunities.
