We are currently seeking an experienced HR Payroll Specialist to join our team in Osnabrck Germany on a hybrid work basis.
Position Overview:
As an HR Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for managing payroll operations in accordance with German labor laws ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee compensation and addressing any payrollrelated queries or concerns. You will work closely with the HR and finance departments to ensure compliance with legal standards and internal policies.
This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in payroll who are proficient in both German labor law and payroll processes. Only applicants with solid payroll experience/education will be considered. HR experience without payroll knowledge will not be accepted for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees including all statutory deductions taxes and benefits in line with German labor law.
- Compliance Management: Maintain a thorough understanding of and ensure compliance with German labor laws tax regulations and social security contributions in relation to payroll.
- Employee Queries: Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters including pay slips tax issues and deductions.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit payrollrelated reports to management and external authorities ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Data Management: Maintain and update payroll data including employee contracts working hours bonuses commissions and any other payrollrelated information.
- Tax and Benefits: Manage and monitor all tax calculations and deductions including income tax social security and pension contributions. Ensure the correct processing of all benefits.
- System Management: Work with payroll software and systems to ensure the proper management of payroll data and to generate reports. Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency of payroll processes.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with HR finance and other departments to ensure the accuracy and consistency of payroll data.
- Documentation: Ensure proper filing of all payroll documentation in accordance with legal requirements and support audits and external inspections.
Required Qualifications:
- Fluency in German (C1 or higher) and B2 English proficiency. Both languages are required for communication with employees and stakeholders.
- Solid Payroll Experience/Education: Candidates must have proven experience or education directly related to payroll functions. Candidates with only HR experience (without payroll expertise) will not be considered for this role.
- Knowledge of German Labor Law: Indepth knowledge of German labor laws and payroll regulations including social security contributions tax law and employee benefits.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data and processing payments.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Confidentiality and Integrity: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- TechSavvy: Proficient in using payroll software HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word etc.).
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 09:00 18:00
- Hybrid role (a mix of onsite work in Osnabrck and remote work).
