Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Test Engineer to spearhead the development and optimization of mechanical and electrical testing processes within Industrial Control Division. This role is instrumental in driving the design validation and deployment of test systems for new product introductions (NPD) and other strategic projects. As a key collaborator within a global team you will ensure test systems meet safety quality and cost requirements while fostering operational excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and industrialize test and automation equipment processes and fixtures for NPD projects.
- Optimize existing test processes developing and maintaining robust test specifications and procedures.
- Collaborate with suppliers to design and construct test equipment ensuring readiness for production deployment.
- Validate and troubleshoot test equipment to ensure it meets performance and reliability expectations.
- Develop and implement standard work practices and training programs related to testing.
- Mentor and support plant Test Engineering leads addressing resource and equipment gaps.
- Lead the development of business cases and manage capital expenditures for NPD test equipment.
- Apply statistical quality tools such as capability studies and gage R&R to enhance test systems.
- Manage testrelated yield issues and drive continuous improvements in testing processes.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing building and operating production test equipment including software testing.
- Proficiency in statistical quality tools (e.g. capability studies gage R&R).
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Menomonee Falls WI (geographic limitation does not apply to Active Duty Military Service members).
- Handson experience with PLC or PCbased software environments including tools like NI LabVIEW TestStand and test scripts.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical safety standards.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities including mentoring and team development.
- Capability to work independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.
Desirable Skills
- Bachelors degree in Electronics Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
- Experience in new product development (NPD) industrialization and plant operations.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing quality management and project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of industrial control components motor controls and circuit protection systems.
