Job Description

For our client in Germany we are recruiting anEmployee Relations Consultant to provide ER support to the countries in our Central Region with a particular focus on Germany and Switzerland.

Work model: hybrid from Munich

Key Responsibilities
Provide ER support to the countries in our Central Region with a particular focus on Germany and Switzerland.
Provide consultation on disciplinary action and involuntary terminations.
Coach and partner with managers and on performance management.
Advise HRBPs and our business leaders on how to handle reorganizations from an ER perspective.
Support in the implementation of new or modified policies in region.
Collaborate with Employment legal department CoEs and HRBPs and provide general consultation on employee relations and employment law topics.
Adhere to companys case management and reporting mechanisms.
Participate in projects regionally and internationally
Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques to resolve situations.
Coach managers and employees on employee individual and sensitive issues (e.g. returning from leave of absence wellbeing topics etc.)
Assess and investigate Employee grievances or complaints.
Conduct investigations along with other key partners across the organization.
Coach and support Managers on planning for and communicating employee separations to include Settlement Agreements.
Coach employees/managers through partnership behavior and provide mediation or conflict resolution with Managers and/or employees where needed.
Work with the Labor Relations Consultant to prepare and drive ER process relevant to our Works Council in Germany.
Partner with our Employment Legal team.

Requirements
Highly effective communication and coaching skills.
Experience in all areas of Employee Relations in a fast paced and challenging environment.
Ability to deal with conflict situations as well as initiating solutions.
Expertise in German employment law.
Desirable to have wider other Employment law knowledge across other countries particularly Switzerland.

What you need to succeed
Expertise in German employment law.
Experience in providing guidance in implementation of reorganizations M&As individual involuntary terminations performance management and investigations.
Demonstrate effective influencing skills to work across different organizations / groups.
Ability to navigate in ambiguous circumstances with little direction and to face new challenges with optimal outcome.
Inclined to use data to inform decisions and drive action.
Highly effective listening questioning skills presentation and persuasion.
Demonstrable experience in conflict management.
Resilience and ethics.
Orientation to detail ability to analyze and record details.
Case planning tracking and management skills.
Ability to use own judgment to problem solve and make decisions while involving key individuals at the appropriate time.
Knowledge of Works Councils in Germany.
