About the Role
As the Master Vehicle Technician you will be responsible for bumper to bumper repairs on all vehicles within our fleet. You will act as an inhouse expert and train and mentor the next generation of AV technicians.
What Youll be Doing
Diagnostic technician responsible for the service and repair of electrical mechanical and integration issues on autonomous vehicles and their equipment
Communicating solutions and updated repair procedures to technicians on shift
Following SOPs and documenting potential improvements and issues
Facilitating the accurate creation and closing of repair orders stating the diagnosis procedure performed and parts required
Performing work with safety being top priority
Participating in continuing education and training
Assisting with fleetwide hardware and software retrofits
Maintaining open communication with various other internal teams regarding fleet availability
Performing general repairs including component replacement
Performing ad hoc projects as needed
What You will need for this position
High School Diploma or GED is required with either an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology or a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a Related Field preferred
ASE Certification and master training
Proven proficiency in Diagnostic Software preferably through certification
Proven knowledge of Electric Vehicles
Strong skills in electrical diagnostics and repair.
Several years of experience in automotive repair ideally with exposure to hybrid or electric vehicles.
Prior work with autonomous vehicles or fleets is highly advantageous.
Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and excellent attention to detail
Ability to explain technical issues to nontechnical team members.
Understanding of how to analyze vehicle performance data.
Willingness to stay updated on rapidly evolving technology.
Understanding relevant safety protocols and compliance standards for autonomous vehicles.
Experience in leading and developing technical teams in a fastpaced environment.
