We are seeking a dedicated and experienced tutor to support and guide 15 young individuals as they take on the role of Community Mental Health Agents (ACSM). Candidates with a background in working with unaccompanied migrant youth are strongly encouraged to apply.
This innovative project led by the Transcultural Psychiatry Programme (Psychiatry Unit at HUVH) involves integrating ACSMs into residential centers for young unaccompanied extutored migrants. In these centers the ACSMs will carry out vital mental health prevention and promotion activities providing support to vulnerable young residents.
The project which includes both training and employment components is funded through a grant from the Servei dOcupaci de Catalunya (SOC) and is pending final approval.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Degree in Psychology Social Education Social Work or a related field.
- Complementary training in Mental Health and Migration.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
Desired:
- Knowledge of Arabic or French will be an asset.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with unaccompanied migrant youth.
- Strong understanding of cultural competence and its application in diverse settings.
- Familiarity with the child protection system in Catalonia.
Desired:
- Experience in mental health prevention and promotion.
- Knowledge of psychosocial intervention approaches from a communitybased perspective.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Support ACSM throughout their educational and professional development process.
- Coordinate efforts with child protection centers to ensure a cohesive approach.
- Oversee project management to ensure objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
- Coordinate with all involved stakeholders to maintain alignment and collaboration.
- Supervise the tasks and activities carried out by the team members.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and goals.
- Organise and lead regular interdisciplinary team meetings to facilitate communication and teamwork.
Labour conditions:
- Full position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: January 2025
- Gross annual salary: (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Openended contract linked to the project
