About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Components Quality Engineer to support an expanding portfolio of solar energy storage products. This pivotal role bridges Engineering Manufacturing and Contract Manufacturers to ensure the delivery of mechanical components that meet stringent quality performance and reliability standards. The ideal candidate is an innovative detaildriven professional who is passionate about distributed energy systems and scaling robust highperformance products with up to 25year warranties.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement quality plans for mechanical parts in new product development.
- Set and track product quality targets in line with performance and reliability standards.
- Lead quality audits at Contract Manufacturers ensuring adherence to established inspection processes.
- Develop Quality Requirement Specifications for highreliability parts including input on inspection tools and methodologies.
- Contribute to DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) activities.
- Oversee PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) from Contract Manufacturers aligning with quality objectives.
- Enforce PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) protocols and drive compliance.
- Lead SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) processes ensuring effective and timely resolutions.
- Manage ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) impacting products and manufacturing workflows.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety certification standards.
- Define and track quality performance metrics fostering continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to analyze defects and implement quality enhancements.
- Maintain expertise in manufacturing processes like casting molding stamping and conduct CTQ (CriticaltoQuality) analyses.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Industrial Technology or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management for highreliability electronics or electromechanical manufacturing.
- Proficiency in solder chemistries electronics cleaning cleanliness validation and conformal coating processes.
- Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong ability to devise solutions to complex challenges in dynamic settings.
- Collaborative approach to working with international teams and matrix organizations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Availability to travel up to 3040% as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in power consumer or commercial electronics.
- Background in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred).
- Familiarity with hardware certification standards (e.g. UL1741).
- Knowledge of PCB design mechanical/thermal analysis and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proficiency with engineering tools like SolidWorks or Creo.
