About the role
The Equipment Maintenance Specialist Technician performs all preventive maintenance and repair activities on Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) systems and related components. Also the technician performs preventive maintenance and repair activities on wafer characterization equipment and reports findings to the Equipment Manager. The MBE Equipment Maintenance Specialist Technician will be required to have a high level of initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision. Good communication organization and documentation skills are essential for effective job performance.
- Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair of MBE systems.
- Maintains a general knowledge of all activities undertaken during the preventive maintenance and repair processes.
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new and routine assignments.
- Performs assignments that are extremely complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required for efficient project completion.
- Uses ability as a skilled specialist to contribute to the development of concepts and techniques.
- Makes recommendations concerning modifications and upgrades to existing MBE systems to help improve reliability and efficiency.
- Makes recommendations concerning MBE Equipment Maintenance practices to help improve quality and efficiency.
- Initiates and leads positive change initiatives; looks for cost and time savings.
- Maintains a broader outlook on the overall improvement of quality and efficiency for the MBE Equipment Maintenance Group.
- Performs other duties and functions as required.
Requirements
About you
- Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education training and experience.
- 57 years of direct MBE or UHV maintenance experience.
