We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis 1 Tandoor Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru India. As a key member of our kitchen staff you will specialize in tandoor cooking techniques and contribute to the preparation of authentic Indian cuisine.
- Assist the Chef de Partie in the tandoor section of the kitchen
- Prepare and cook various tandoor dishes including breads meats and vegetables
- Maintain and operate the tandoor oven ensuring proper temperature control and cooking times
- Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
- Assist in the preparation of marinades spice blends and accompaniments for tandoor dishes
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely food service
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Participate in kitchen inventory management and stock rotation
- Assist in menu development and the creation of new tandoor dishes
- Support senior kitchen staff in daily operations and special events
Qualifications :
- Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent culinary education preferred
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen particularly with Indian cuisine is advantageous
- Proficiency in tandoor oven operation and cooking techniques
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various Indian spices and ingredients
- Understanding of food safety hygiene practices and relevant health regulations
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Familiarity with local Mysuru ingredients and cooking styles is a plus
