Our Client is looking for a dynamic Head of Product Engineering to lead their Sports Core Team (sports betting / iGaming experience would be beneficial but not essential.

- The candidates will be working with the Engineering Teams in Barcelona and London.
- Will manage 5 portfolios / SEMs (Software Engineering Managers) and their teams leading a team of over 40 direct and indirect reports must have experience in a similar size environment.
- 95125K Euro p/a bonus benefits (negotiable for the right candidate) OR 100150K p/a bonus benefits (negotiable for the right candidate)
- Strong previous experience leading software development teams.
- Must have very solid infrastructure and development background not just pure product management.
- Must like a challenge and everchanging exciting product environment and have ROI in mind at all times.

The Core team are responsible for building the central hub of our global Sports Betting platform where bets are struck matched with our sports offer enhanced and settled.
Job Description
As Head of Product Engineering you will lead four engineering teams with three based in our Barcelona office and one in London as well as an architecture team and a small team of product experts. You will be heavily involved in defining the product and technology strategy for your teams and will be accountable for the delivery of the services being built. You will also be accountable for the development and growth of the engineering teams.
Skills and Experience
What youll do
- Youll work closely with your engineering managers to drive a culture of ownership and engineering excellence within the teams.
- Youll work closely product and business stakeholders to build innovative Sports features for our players.
- Youll facilitate collaboration with other teams and solve problems across our Sports platform.
- Youll act as a key decision maker across development and product teams as well as a key stakeholder for quarterly roadmap commitments.
- Youll empower your teams to be both delivery and production focused.
Who you are
- You have strong previous experience leading software development teams.
- You are passionate about transformational leadership and invested in developing both great engineers and great teams.
- You can set a clear strategy for your teams that services the shortterm while delivering according to the longterm company direction.
- You are an excellent communicator and presenter.
- You have a software engineering background but have a particular affinity towards building high transactional backend systems specifically with Golang and PostgreSQL.
- You possess an understanding of cloud infrastructure Azure AWS GCP etc
- You are experienced in making technology decisions that set up the products you build for the future.
