Job Description
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a talented Programmer/Developer to join TxDOT and the Engineering team. This worker will perform the development works and supporting the Engineering s applications including the following.
Plans develops tests and documents computer programs applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
Evaluates user request for new or modified program such as for financial or human resource management systems clinical research trial results statistical study of traffic patterns or analyzing and developing specifications for bridge design to determine feasibility cost and time required compatibility with current system and computer capabilities.
Consults with user to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop program using methodologies such as structured analysis and design or objectoriented development.
SME and support of TxDOT s engineering applications including SiteManager BAMS/DSS I2MS and is our primary resource for the AASHTOWare projects (APCM APVM APCRL).
Manage server and application upgrades as needed.
Troubleshooting system integration issues.

Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Engineering or a related field.

Programming Skills: (8 or more years) Experience in VB.Net and MS Excel VBA programmer or similar programming languages.

Programming Skills: (8 or more years) Experience in deploying and troubleshooting published apps for RMD and Citrix platforms.

Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure.

Version Control: Experience with GitHub GitLab or other version control tools.

Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.

Experience with AASHTOWARE applications at TxDOT.
Familiar with Agile and VSTS (DevOps).
