This is a remote position.
HHSC has issued a request for an Oracle Database Administrator to support their TIERS Cloud Migration efforts. This role will primarily be supporting Oracle DBs on Oracle Exadata systems while also supporting MSSQL Server Enterprise which does not currently exist within the team.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Maintain grid and database software performance tuning ASM/storage management and administrating user/db security.
- Support PSR Team including analyzing troubleshooting and executing data corrections production databases.
- The position is required to provide on weekends during a release and/or maintenance. The position is required to be Oncall.
Minimum Candidate Characteristics:
- Extensive experience managing Oracle databases (version 19 RAC Active Data Guard) on Linux systems including shell scripting tuning and administration on Oracle Exadata and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in MSSQL Server and PostgreSQL database administration with expertise in database migration configuration and support across environments (development test production).
- Strong skills in designing setting up and maintaining largescale database infrastructure across datacenters and cloud environments with a focus on disaster recovery improvements and efficient database refreshes/clones.
Exceptional Candidate Characteristics:
- Experience with HHS agency and/or healthcare programs systems and solution implementations.
- Experience working on databases with a focus on disaster recovery improvements and efficient database refreshes/clones.
Screening Criteria: 1) Try to find candidate with 8+ years of architecting or designing experience (15+ years of overall IT experience), have worked on AWS for designing enterprise grade level applications. 2) Must -have you done any system or platform design? 3) Must - have you done designing to modernize any applications 4) Familiar with AI related services of AWS 5) Solid understanding of API gateways 6) Hands on to coding (Python + node.js) and can contribute to development?
