Job Description

Work is done in the Hood River Basin at Parkdale OR remote office and involves field office public outreach and report writing. Incumbent will work with minimal supervision and expected to problem solve and orient tasks efficiently. Candidates must have field experience with Pacific Northwest fish species and be familiar with standard fisheries gear and techniques such as rotaryscrew traps seine nets trap nets measuring and anesthetizing fish PIT tagging recording data Redd surveys habitat surveys snorkeling. Must be able to work outside in rough terrain and walk several miles per day with a pack that may weigh 50 lb. Must have satisfactory data analysis and writing skills.



Requirements

Must have a A.S. degree in fisheries or 3 years of natural resources related field experience. Mac computers are in use with Microsoft products installed as well as basic statistical software. Candidate must successfully pass a drug and alcohol test administered in Warm Springs possess a valid Oregon Drivers license and be insurable by the Tribal carrier and also pass a background check. Will also be required to pass a criminal background check with Federa Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
