Job Description

Position: Special Education Teacher

Location: Dolton Illinois

Job Type: In school setting Direct Hire

Hours: FullTime Commitment

As an LBS1 Education Specialist you will play an essential role in empowering students with diverse learning needs. By fostering a structured and supportive classroom environment you will encourage growth independence and confidence in each student. Your primary responsibility will be to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students unique learning goals and strengths.

This position emphasizes collaboration working closely with families paraprofessionals therapists and general education teachers to provide wellrounded support. You will maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere reinforcing constructive behaviors and creating a safe space where all students feel valued. Through regular IEP meetings you ll share progress updates refine goals and ensure each student stays on track for success.

Requirements

Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
A bachelors Degree from an accredited university is required. Masters degree is a plus
Have or be eligible to apply for an Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement
