Job Description
Job Title: IBM Mainframe Engineer
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IBM Mainframe Engineer to support critical mainframe systems with a focus on CICS operations documentation and application resolution. This role requires a strong understanding of system architecture and the ability to create and maintain detailed architectural diagrams.
Key Responsibilities:
Mainframe Operations:
- Monitor and manage IBM mainframe systems ensuring high availability and performance.
- Administer and troubleshoot CICS (Customer Information Control System) to maintain seamless operations.

Application Support:
- Analyze and resolve application issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance system performance and functionality.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of system processes configurations and incident resolutions.
- Create and update architecture diagrams to reflect system design and changes.

System Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency reliability and scalability of mainframe systems.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure alignment of IT strategies and business objectives.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members as required.

Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with IBM mainframe environments including CICS operations.
- Proficiency in creating and interpreting architectural diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of industrystandard mainframe tools and processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with additional IBM software such as DB2 MQ or IMS.
- Experience in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Understanding of ITIL practices.
