What you will be doing:
- Work on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals.
- Conduct legal research and write memoranda.
- Draft complex case evaluations and prepare briefs pleadings motions and other litigation documents.
- Conduct propound and respond to discovery (documents written discovery depositions).
- Work with clients witnesses experts and other counsel.
- Represent clients in state and federal courts or before government agencies.
- Prepare and argue motions including motions for summary judgment/adjudication.
- Prepare for and defend lay and expert witness depositions.
- Manage case development and investigation including regularly reporting to partners overseeing cases and clients.
- Communicate research into meaningful written work product.
Experience you will need:
- 13 years of litigation experience is preferred.
- Strong writing and case management skills.
- Direct experience handling clients and adversaries.
- Excellent oral advocacy skills are required.
- Savvy with ediscovery data/document management applications and related technologies.
- Previous law firm experience is preferred.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing.
