Industrial Maintenance Technician 3 Electro-Mechanical-Night Shift

Provide maintenance support and repairs to production machinery computer systems and facility for a 24hr / 7 day manufacturing operation.

ElectroMechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician 3 Night Shift

Shift Hours: 7:30PM 6:00AM Weekends are required for shutdown maintenance. Some overtime and holiday work may be required as dictated by business needs.

Hourly Pay Rate: $28.00 $34.00 DOE with Shift Differential  of $1.25

Candidates must have experience performing electromechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of highspeed automated industrial machinery.

Primary functions: provide production support troubleshoot technical problems perform corrective and preventive maintenance to maximize throughput and efficiency. Additionally performs the duties of Maintenance Technician 2 as required.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

• Production Support (15%):
  • Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor.
  • Train production technicians in the proper setup and copy troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide training and assistance to production technicians as needed to help maximize production output and minimize downtime through the utilization of proper production techniques and handling practices.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs (35%):
  • Effectively diagnose mechanical electrical network and computer hardware/software in assigned area (facility machinery equipment etc.)
  • Make timely and accurate repairs as necessary during production
  • Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair modification and maintenance of equipment.
• Preventative Maintenance (35%):
  • Inspect machinery for potential problems on a daily basis.  Documents problems and schedules work/repairs as appropriate.
  • Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner. 
  • Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan.  These activities will be recorded using proper PM sheets.
• Administrative (10%):
  • Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory.
  • Inform Supervisor of parts and equipment used from inventory.
  • Record maintenance activities using the proper computer application or paperwork
  • Provide training and coaching to new maintenance technicians and inspects their work.
• Housekeeping/Other (5%):
  • Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area cleanup machine and equipment cleanup sweeping up after cleanup and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Education & Knowledge:

• High school diploma
• Associates Degree technical certification or equivalent preferred
• Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language.
• Powered Industrial Truck Certification preferred

Experience / Skills / Abilities:

• 35 years related electromechanical experience
• Extensive hands on experience and detailed knowledge of:
  • Industrial mechanical and electrical machines and systems
  • Computers hardware and software specifically industrial controls and related I/Os
• Able to identify and perform Level A B & C equipment preventive maintenance.
• Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.
• Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.
• Strong Computer literacy: Windows Microsoft Excel Word Outlook and Internet software.  Ideal candidates will have experience with Inventory Software Manufacturing Software and Order Processing systems.
• Must demonstrate good time management skills. 
• Plans and organizes daily work flow.
• Ability to retain knowledge of procedures and processes and understand complex instructions and multistep procedures. 
• Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Ability to organize work people and materials.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.  Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
• Intermediate math skills.  Ability to calculate area circumference volume etc.

• Ability to work independently on nights and weekend shifts.
• Ability to work a 12hour rotating work schedule with callin and overtime duties.

• None.

Communication & Contacts (Internal/External):

• Informs leaders and other technicians of pertinent information and communicates to Plant personnel leadership and other departments as necessary.
• Communicates with equipment operators to determine problems with equipment before breakdown and to determine if equipment adjustments or repairs are necessary.
• Communicates with outside vendors and various suppliers service and maintenance providers.

Decision Making Scope:

• Often must make decisions in conjunction with department supervisors to shut down equipment schedule repairs request for service.
