The role of Assistant Financial Controller provides support for the Financial Controller in the management of the finance department and ensuring the integrity of the Hotels revenues and transactions.

What youll be doing:
- Complete the hotels income audit reviewing daily revenue to ensure all revenue is recorded correctly all rebates discounts & complimentary items are substantiated per hotel policy
- Review of the hotels day pack for audit compliance log any discrepancies & follow up relevant departments
- Review of and importing of daily revenue statistics
- Preparation of bank reconciliations and follow up of any unreconciled items
- Preparation of the daily cashier banking spreadsheet. Monitor & resolve cashier discrepancies and ensure that deposits are banked efficiently
- Preparation of the miscellaneous revenue spreadsheet to allocate revenue to the correct general ledger accounts
- Preparation of EFT payments
- Support Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable Payroll & Stores with queries and training
- Monitor cash flow and inform the Financial Controller of any foreseen problems
- Liaise with Department Heads regarding discrepancies of postings and controls and assist with implementation of operating procedures.
- Provide revenue/statistics reports
- Completion of weekly food COS report and distribution
- Preparation of the weekly hotel forecast report and distribution to department heads
- Upload actual and forecasted revenue into the hotels time and attendance system
- Completion of weekly forecast/payroll meeting presentation including running the with minutes recorded
- Review the ageing of accounts receivable and assist in collection if necessary
- Review of weekly payment run and set up in the bank for approval
- Review of weekly payroll and set up in the bank for approval
- Attend fortnightly credit meetings
Qualifications :
About you
- Strong customer service experience
- Understanding of state and federal legislation for tax superannuation long service leave and National Employment Standards
- 2 years experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication strong analytical skills and ability to collaborate and champion change
- Bachelors degree / higher education qualification and or equivalent
- Professional accounting or certification such as CPA or ICA is preferred
- The proven ability to coach and train and lead team members
- A clear communicator with strong management and administrative practices including you guessed it. Attention to detail.
- The ability to work on a weekend if required
- Must hold current valid work rights for Australia
