Job Title: Infrastructure & Cyber security Specialist
Location: Austin TX (Remote)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement security measures to protect systems networks and data. Stay uptodate on the latest intelligence to anticipate breaches and prevent unauthorized access.
- Provide Windows and Linux operating system support and application maintenance ensuring high availability and performance.
- Utilize expertise in network facilities data processing techniques network operating systems security software performance monitoring and capacity management tools.
- Conduct research to identify new threats vulnerabilities and exploits implementing necessary actions to safeguard information systems.
- Prepare clear concise reports for a variety of audiences. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Lead project calls including kickoff calls progress updates on critical findings and review sessions to discuss test results and remediation plans.
- Review and address violations of security procedures collaborating with the HHSC/TIERS Security team to resolve issues.
- Ensure that all security systems and processes comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide support for Oracle MSSQL and Postgres databases ensuring system integrity and security.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 8 years of experience in system administration security and infrastructure support for both Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong ability to identify analyze and evaluate problems offering effective solutions and recommendations.
- Extensive experience with network facilities security software and capacity management tools.
- Proven expertise in orchestrating project calls (kickoff testing and review sessions) and managing communication with stakeholders.
- Ability to implement and enforce security measures to prevent unauthorized access and ensure system safety.
- Proficiency in NIST 80037 NIST 80053 MARSE controls POA&Ms and developing Corrective Action Plans.
- Solid experience with database support for Oracle MSSQL and Postgres.
- Ability to prepare detailed concise written reports and communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Knowledge of security protocols data access needs and security violation procedures.
- Ability to perform proactive research on new cybersecurity threats and system vulnerabilities.
Preferred Skills:
- 5 years of experience with tools such as Archer GRC Dynatrace Splunk Imperva Web Application Firewall Qualys and MS Office tools.
- Experience with ITIL methodology ticketing systems like Remedy and ServiceNow.
- Ability to train staff on network and information security procedures and safeguarding.
Certifications (preferred):
- Relevant certifications in cybersecurity or IT infrastructure (e.g. CISSP CompTIA Security).
