Job Description
SENIOR AUDITOR (Permanent)
Our client a civic organization in WNY is looking to hire a Senior Auditor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a resident of the City of Buffalo who is a selfstarter and has a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular audits for various financial processes including but not limited to departmental expenditures payroll special claims and revenue receipts
- Supervise the preaudit preparation for payroll and employee time reports advising payroll clerks on procedures as necessary
- Audit police/fire department pension payrolls
- Plan and prepare financial reports for audits ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Review purchase orders contracts leases and other agreements
- Prepare financial presentations to be submitted to local state & federal offices for review
- Examine private books and records that relate to agreements leases and/or contracts
- Develop new accounting procedures related to new grants and agencies as needed
- Analyze current audit processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
- Complete special projects in a timely manner.
- Work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is fulltime direct hire
- 100% inoffice
- Must live in the City of Buffalo or move to the city within 6 months of start date
- $59000 $66000 annually depending on experience
- Excellent Health Insurance or Healthcare allowance PTO Retirement match
- Bachelor s/Associate s degree in Finance Economics Business plus appropriate years experience
- 3 years experience in Auditing of Accounting with a Bachelor s degree
- 5 years experience in Auditing of Accounting with an Associate s degree
- Proficient computer skills specifically Excel & various financial software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Selfmotivated
- Relocation not available
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available
