Maintenance Coordinator Established Mining Manufacturing Company
The Company
A global leader in conveyor product manufacturing renowned for producing toptier conveyor components across various locations worldwide including Australia Brazil Canada Indonesia and Chile. They are recognised as the industry standard and have designed and built conveyors and components found in most mines ports and other large bulk material handling plants.
Due to their continued success and increasing client expansion they are looking for a Maintenance Coordinator for an immediate start in their workshop based in Perth. Despite their success they have retained a friendly and easy going culture.
A lot of the team have been with the company for several years; having progressed within the business. This is a real standout for this client in that they are committed to the progression of their people and do their best to ensure opportunities exist for them to grow within the business.
Position overview
The role will have three direct reports (welder electrician and bricklayer) and will require someone who is highly organised possesses strong planning/scheduling skills with an assertive approach and a tech savvy background.
What you’ll do and bring to the table
- Ideally a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Maintenance/Reliability engineering or relevant years of experience in a similar position
- Ability to identify which machines / systems impact critical path if they go down and assign a priority rating of
- 1) how often they need to be serviced
- 2) in the event of a breakdown what is the procedure to get them back up and running asap (i.e. build relationships with the OEM/ maintenance company to get out ASAP and fix).
- Strong communication skills (from both an internal and external stakeholder perspective) ability to identify and build vendor relationships
- Be responsible for the maintenance of Critical machinery (i.e. horizontal and vertical lathes CNC machines welding machines etc.); Ensure that any breakdowns are lodged immediately and also that the contractor company responsible for the repairs is compliant with the contract in terms of maintenance schedules
- Ability to identify requirements for and compliance with state and federal legislation and worksafe requirements of certain machinery (e.g. Regular inspections and certification of Pressure Vessels Overhead Cranes Warehouse Racking Systems Eyewash and Safety Showers etc.)
- Oversee general Facilities management which can include:
- alarm systems
- overhead cranes
- tool room organisation
- steam boiler and wastewater systems
- floor chips / paintwork
- out of service machines
- Forklift truck maintenance
- emergency eye wash
- power point installation if setting up new work areas
- air receivers
- autoclave recertification
- vibration analysis rig
- scissor lifts
- industrial refrigerators
