Colruyt Group is a Belgian Family owned Company founded in 1925 started as a small shop and developed to supermarkets in different sizes. The supermarket formula had a huge success and today there are more than 300 stores in Belgium France and Luxembourg. Over the years the group also established sister companies that were equally successful. We developed bio stores and local convenience stores. Furthermore the group has a highly developed other activities including but not limited to energy production bike stores foodservice petrol stations printing shops In total more than 30.000 people work in more than 600 sales outlets for the Group which makes us the Belgian market leader.
Function
As a merchandiser you are the link between the purchase department and the suppliers. You actively look for new products suppliers and manufacturers but you also maintain the existing relations. You analyse and negotiate prices and contracts. You make preanalyses for the buyers and conclude contracts after having consulted them. You follow up on orders and always act from a cost and qualityconsciousness. To conclude you are responsible for claiming the required quality documents and you organise and accompany business trips.
Profile
University graduate
You have at least 8 12 years relevant experience in sourcing food retail products
Fluent written and spoken in English
Proficient in using PC applications with experience in Word Excel PowerPoint is definitely an advantage
You are prepared to make occasional business trips Business acumen with good organisational numerical and analytical skills
Strong negotiation communication and vendor management skills
Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
You are actively networking
You can and dare to make decisions
You are oriented towards innovation: you look for new products and you constantly have an eye for opportunities
Open communication is an asset nononsense. Be downtoearth not beat about the bush.
