Position Details:
- Title: Special Education Teacher
- Location: Richton Park IL
- Duration: 12/16/24 to 06/06/25
- Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
- Position Type: Contract
- Working Hours: 35 hours weekly from Monday to Friday
- Student Age Group: 6th Grade
- Case Load: 8 to 10 students
Responsibilities: Special Education Teacher
- Prepare student individual education programs in consultation with parents and IEP team members.
- Design instruction both individual programs and small group which parallels the general education curriculum.
- Act as a case manager of IEP implementation with general education staff.
- Monitor student progress and participation in review and revision of IEP as appropriate.
- Assist other professional staff in identifying learning/behavior disabilities development of remediation plans and evaluation of student progress.
- Maintain appropriate student data and other records and submit reports as required.
- Articulate curriculum between and among student levels.
- Manage classroom organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Special Education Teacher
- Possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university and PEL LBSI Teacher Certification from the Illinois State Board of Education.
- Possess a Masters Degree in special education or a related field is desirable.
- Training in and ability to modify/adapt general education curriculum and use of technology for instruction.
- Experience working with special education students; modifying/adapting general education curriculum; providing education services in varied environments.
