Job Summary
Our client who is a leading distributor of chemicals across emerging markets and actively trades several other commodities with Belgian roots is actively hiring for the position of a Commercial Manager in Nigeria. This role will be responsible for the commercial performance in Nigeria responsible for the sales and revenue generation marketing operations and commercial planning.
Job Responsibilities
Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop the chemical market in a challenging environment.
- Grow a portfolio of profitable customers and transactions through the creation of strong relationships with trustworthy customers.
- Set up and pursue the (trading) market development strategy for Nigeria.
- Support the shared vision and act as a change agent by utilizing various change management techniques to enhance business process and operational excellence.
- Define and execute revenue and commercial strategy for the organization under the Management approved objective.
- Represent the Company and develop relationships with OEMs government institutional and business leaders.
- Maintain working relationships with government institutions senior management from industryrelated partners manufacturers counterparts from the broader quality control solutions community.
Sales:
- Develop sales strategy and business plan to drive business growth and the achievement of set goals including increasing sales market share and profitability; cascade it down to quarterly and monthly sales operations plan
- Responsible for managing the entire sales pipeline i.e. managing sales process from order to invoicing; this is achieved by interacting with all relevant departments within the Company.
- Drive Nigeria sales performance from account and revenue planning(strategy) through execution (client meetings and business development cycle
- Keep abreast of economic industry market and regulatory trends ascertain their (potential) impact on the business and advice management; accordingly develop complementary strategies or initiatives to strengthen the company s market share position in the market
- Collaborate with internal teams including operations marketing and technical departments to ensure a unified approach towards business development goals.
- Regularly assess and analyze sales performance metrics identifying areas for improvement and devising action plans to optimize results.
Marketing:
- Assist in the planning and leadership of the marketing department by ensuring that the appropriate structures systems competencies and values are developed in order to meet and exceed the goals of the Marketing plan
- Develop the annual marketing plan for the organization; for strategic market planning; market research programs; and control of the marketing budget.
- Brand Management: Assist in the brand identity and positioning for the company ensuring consistency and adherence to corporate guidelines across all marketing materials and communication channels.
Operations:
- Develop and coordinate the implementation of the strategies plans policies and procedures for procurement and requirements of the company to deliver the target benefits and financial savings.
- Ensure the quality and efficiency of operations across all clients and projects and ensures accountability throughout the supply chain.
Customer Experience:
- Build and operate an efficient customer centric customer experience processes to ensure every interaction between customers and the organization.
- Lead efforts to broaden the scope of market segments creating marketing flexibility and instilling responsive and timely delivery of the companys services
Requirements
- Education: Minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor s degree; Master s degree MBA or professional certifications is a plus.
- Experience Minimum of 7 10 years of working experience as a Commercial Manager.
- Experience as a Commercial Manager from any top Industry in a Senior Management level would be highly considered.
- Candidates must be strategic driven outspoken intrapreneurial open to learning have an outstanding track record in B2B sales and be flexible and easily adaptable.
- Commercial acumen: Ability to identify quantify and harness opportunities. Be imaginative in finding solution to issues anticipating trends and opportunities and pursuing opportunities for the business.
- Demonstrable experience of managing operational performance within financial budgets.
- Datadriven decisionmaking: should be adept at leveraging data and analytics to drive commercial decisions.
- Collaboration and leadership: possess strong collaboration and leadership skills to drive crossfunctional initiatives.
- Good communication and managerial skills: Ability to create focus and clarity for team with clear communication on ongoing activities to provide context.
- Proven effective judgment and reasoning.
