Job Description

Looking for a digital underwriting consultant who can handle following responsibilities:

  • Manage maintain and update rulesets for a digital underwriting service: UnderwritingPal (UWPal) ensuring rulesets are aligned with underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Optimize rule configurations and improve straightthrough processing (STP) rates.
  • Serve as a resource for Aura Next implementations in the US and support for research and development of new digital underwriting capabilities.
  • Participate in research & development initiatives to expand or advance technology for digital underwriting capabilities.
  • Work closely with digital underwriting project & product (teams) providing underwriting direction and working to ensure that the underwriting approach works as designed and is in line with underwriting philosophy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Required:

  • Experience developing and implementing rules for an underwriting engine including straight through processing optimization.
  • 7 years of experience in life & health insurance/reinsurance in the US market
  • Experience providing consultative services and software implementation for digital underwriting solutions.
  • Experience using evidences including MIB LabPiq Medical Claims Data RX Checks Electronic Health Records for making underwriting decisions
  • ACS ALU FLMI FALU or CLU accreditation or progress towards accreditation
  • 7 years of experience direct underwriting experience with mortality and morbidity products

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Excel use creating and formatting spreadsheets simple data entry and sorting or filtering data.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft PowerPoint use creating and editing presentations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation skills demonstrating the ability to convey information in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders and team members.
  • Ability to adapt to new methods and work under tight deadlines.
  • Expert skills in managing multiple projects and/or subteams simultaneously.
  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational functional and technical disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance principles underwriting related regulations underwriting policies and procedures and guidelines for dealing with risk analysis.
