Job Description

Sparrow Lansing Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Surgeon for a Locum to Perm position. This role spans from April 2025 to July 2025 with an opportunity to transition to a permanent placement. The position also includes call coverage responsibilities.

JOB DETAILS:
Reason for Coverage: Provider FMLA
Practice Setting: Hospital coverage with ambulatory followup as needed
Schedule: 24hr call coverage when on service at a Level I trauma center
Call Schedule: Call coverage when on service
Call Ratio: 1:4 call rotation for department
Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day HOSPITAL: 34
Average Number of Patients Per Day OFFICE/CLINIC: n/a
Trauma Level/Designation: Level I
Annual ER Volume: 112000
Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
Number of Operating Rooms: 20
Number of Orthopedic Surgeons in Practice: 14
Description of OR Staff: standard OR support to include APP first assist
Patient Age Demographic: all
Do You Require Fellowship Training for Pediatric Cases: No

Practice Types/Settings Required:
Orthopedic Surgical Cases TRAUMA Orthopedic Surgical Cases ADULT Orthopedic Surgical Cases PEDIATRIC Orthopedic Surgical Cases GERIATRIC Hospital Office/Clinic

General Orthopedics (treatment of fractures dislocations amputations deformities and tumors of bones and joints):
Surgical NonSurgical

Additional Procedures Required or Preferred:
All trauma presentations to include pelvis acetabular and supracondylar humerus fractures

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 4560 days

Facility Reimburse for the Following Costs:
Flight Hotel Rental Car Mileage Billed at the IRS Standard Rate

Rates to submit:
Malpractice rate
Orientation must be 1/2 regular rate
On Call Daily to include 8 hours onsite coverage plus night call
Call back per hour of patient contact hours after 8 hours MF
Weekend Call Rate 24hrs Sat/Sun with 4 hours gratis

Please Note:
A background check and fingerprints will be needed. Credentialing will be sending over a Fingerprint Consent & Disclosure form with the kick off email that will need to be completed upon receipt to get the ball rolling on the fingerprints.

Board Certified (Orthopedics) Required
Trauma Fellowship Highly Preferred
MI License (willing to accept those who will obtain license) Required no exceptions
List out specific availability in submission dates above plus additional availability Required
Clean malpractice and background Required no exceptions
COVID Vaccine Required note at time of name clear
DEA Verbal Confirmation Required at Name Clear
