HVAC/Controls Service Technician Level II (Building Automation) Location: Houston TX Level Description: Level I: Able to achieve many objectives of this position. Requires some supervision to ensure tasks are accomplished correctly and communication is adequate (verbal written email etc.). Level II: Consistently achieves all objectives of this position. Provides mentoring and direct daytoday supervision to Level I positions. Senior: Highly experienced in the position. Advanced awareness of customer needs and methods of solving them. Solid understanding of building controls special systems and mechanical/electrical systems in buildings. Acts as a go to source for others with a thorough awareness of customer base commitments and employee skill sets. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Coordinate with the Service Coordinator to manage the scheduling of specialists for all service agreements. Manage daytoday scheduling for emergency and T&M projects. Oversee service retrofit projects. Verify accuracy and enter service work orders and employee timesheets. Engage with service customers to ensure commitments are met and exceeded. Provide ideas and technical support to customer and service sales for additional work generation. Coordinate with service sales for TSA renewal and escalation. Perform routine customer QAs both informally and formally. Follow up on customer issues in a timely fashion ensuring accurate communication. Provide project management on TSAs T&M and service retrofit work. Ensure employee truck stocks are accurate and materials are replaced timely. Collaborate with the Collections department to ensure timely collections. Coordinate material orders with the Material Coordinator to maximize efficiency. Coordinate with subcontractors or internal installation team for value maximization in installations. Support contractors in solving building operating issues beyond controls or special systems operation. Communicate with internal employees to ensure accurate labor and productivity. Provide leadership and input for accurate estimation design installation startup commissioning and training for building systems. Communicate with external organizations (consulting engineers building owners and other contractors) for accurate and timely engineering. Provide ongoing service engineering support for existing building systems. Keep service management system updated for maximum productivity. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma. At least 5 years of experience in HVAC Electronics or related fields. Understanding of basic computer systems including MS Office Suite. Ability to configure and debug basic computer problems. Clear and concise communication skills both verbal and written. Empathy and creativity in understanding and resolving issues for successful outcomes. Thorough understanding of HVAC operations within a facility if working in the controls field. Experience with Distech and Niagara systems. Preferred Qualifications: Twoyear technical degree in HVAC or Electronicsrelated studies. At least 8 years of experience in HVAC Electronics or related fields. Undergraduate degree in Electrical Mechanical Construction Management or related studies. Other technical experience (e.g. military training onthejob training programs). Essential Functions: Lift and carry ladders drawings personal computers materials etc. Spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites. Ability to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day. Maintain a satisfactory driving record to drive on company business. Be physically able to kneel stoop and crawl. Compensation: 65000 $100000 depending on experience and a successful interview.
