Job Description

Purpose of the Role:

The AI Desktop Publishing (DTP) Specialist is responsible for creating formatting and enhancing documents and visual content using a combination of desktop publishing software and AIpowered tools. The role combines technical expertise in design layout and formatting with the ability to leverage AI technologies to optimize workflows improve efficiency and produce highquality materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Layout Design:

  • Create edit and format documents presentations brochures and other print and digital materials.
  • Design layouts that align with brand guidelines ensuring consistency and visual appeal.
  • Leverage AI tools to automate repetitive tasks streamline design processes and enhance output quality.

AI Integration and Optimization:

  • Implement AIdriven solutions to improve desktop publishing workflows.
  • Train team members on AI tools and techniques to maximize their usage.
  • Experiment with AI tools to innovate and optimize design processes.

Quality Assurance:

  • Proofread and review content for accuracy visual consistency and compliance with guidelines.
  • Ensure highquality output by maintaining a focus on detail and precision.
  • Perform preflight checks on all projects to ensure files are print and digitalready.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with content creators graphic designers and marketing teams to understand project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet expectations and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with IT and software teams to ensure seamless integration of AI tools within existing systems.

Software and Tool Management:

  • Maintain proficiency in DTP software such as Adobe InDesign Illustrator Photoshop and other industrystandard tools.
  • Stay uptodate with the latest AI tools and software updates relevant to desktop publishing.

Key Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in desktop publishing and design software.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their application in DTP workflows.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an eye for design and layout.
  • Problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot software and processrelated issues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey ideas and receive feedback.

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Graphic Design Multimedia Design or a related field.
  • 24 years of experience in desktop publishing or graphic design.
  • Familiarity with AIdriven tools such as Canva AI Adobe Sensei ChatGPT for content creation or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of print production and digital media processes.
  • Experience working in fastpaced environments with tight deadlines.

Additional Skills (Advantageous):

  • Experience in programming or scripting for automating workflows (e.g. Python JavaScript).
  • Understanding of UX/UI design principles.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
