Job Description

Role: User Experience (UX) Analyst

Location: Remote/Washington D.C

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Position Overview:

The client seeks a seeks a User Experience (UX) Analyst to support the Research and Needs Assessment for the USIP.org website. The UX Analyst will evaluate and enhance the usability accessibility and overall user journey of the website. This role will involve conducting detailed analyses gathering insights from stakeholders and users and recommending design and functionality improvements aligned with project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. User Experience Research

Conduct surveys interviews and focus groups with internal staff and external stakeholders to understand user needs and expectations.

Analyze how users interact with the website including navigation paths task completion and user engagement with various sections.

2. Usability Testing

Evaluate the websites organization navigation and interface design from an enduser perspective.

Test and document the ease/difficulty of completing key user tasks for different audience segments.

Identify and report on usability barriers and challenges.

3. Accessibility and Compliance

Assess the websites compliance with accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) to ensure inclusivity for all users.

Collaborate with technical teams to address accessibility issues and improve user experience.

4. Performance Analysis

Use tools like Google Analytics to track key metrics including user behavior search patterns engagement and conversion rates.

Analyze the websites technical performance including page load times and responsiveness to identify areas for optimization.

5. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Evaluate how well the website aligns with modern SEO best practices and its performance on search engines.

Provide recommendations to improve content visibility and site credibility.

6. Benchmarking and Comparative Analysis

Conduct a comparative review of similar organizational websites to identify industry trends and best practices.

Use insights to recommend design and functionality enhancements for USIP.org.

7. Reporting and Recommendations

Prepare reports summarizing user experience findings accessibility evaluations and usability insights.

Collaborate with the project team to translate research findings into actionable design and development recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in HumanComputer Interaction UX Design Data Analytics or a related field.

Required Experience:

3 years of experience in UX research analysis or design.

Proven experience with usability testing website analytics and accessibility standards.

Experience working with crossfunctional teams including designers developers and stakeholders.

Skills:

Proficiency in UX tools and platforms such as Figma Sketch or Axure.

Strong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics Hotjar or similar tools.

Indepth knowledge of WCAG guidelines and other accessibility standards.

Understanding of SEO and its integration with user experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.

Key Deliverables:

Usability and accessibility evaluation reports with actionable insights.

Datadriven recommendations to enhance user experience navigation and accessibility.

Comparative analysis and benchmarking reports against industry trends.

Contribution to the development of a final strategy brief summarizing UX findings and recommendations.
