Role: Project Manager Website Research and Needs Assessment
Location: Remote/Washington D.C. (as required)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Position Overview:
The client seeks a skilled Project Manager to oversee and execute the Research and Needs Assessment for USIP.org. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project meets its objectives by coordinating stakeholders managing deliverables and ensuring alignment with the outlined scope of work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Coordination
Develop and manage the project plan timeline and resource allocation.
Lead the kickoff meeting to define project goals and deliverables.
Serve as the central point of contact between USIP internal teams and external consultants or vendors.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
Organize and facilitate internal focus groups and surveys to gather input from USIP staff.
Coordinate with key external stakeholders for focus groups interviews and surveys.
Synthesize and present stakeholder feedback to guide strategic decisions.
3. Research Oversight
Ensure the successful deployment and analysis of user surveys (internal and external).
Oversee accessibility analyses technical performance reviews and user experience (UX) evaluations.
Support benchmarking studies comparing USIP.org to similar organizational websites.
4. Performance Tracking and Reporting
Collaborate with technical and analytical teams to review metrics such as user navigation search patterns and content engagement.
Consolidate findings into actionable insights and recommendations through strategy briefs and presentations.
5. Vision and Strategy Development
Facilitate visionsetting workshops to define future goals measurable objectives and performance indicators for the website.
Support the creation of a final brief summarizing project outcomes and next steps.
6. Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure deliverables align with the projects timeline budget and highquality standards.
Monitor adherence to USIPs terms guidelines and costsaving strategies.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Project Management Communications Digital Marketing IT or a related field (Masters preferred).
Required Experience:
5 years of experience managing complex projects preferably in web development research or communications.
Proven experience coordinating crossfunctional teams and managing both internal and external stakeholders.
Familiarity with website analytics UX design principles and SEO best practices.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience delivering presentations to senior stakeholders.
Proficiency in tools such as MS Project Google Analytics and content management systems like Drupal.
Understanding of accessibility standards and comparative industry benchmarking.
Other: Experience working in or with nonpartisan missiondriven organizations is a plus.
Key Deliverables:
Comprehensive project plan and timeline within one week of the contract start.
Updated internal focus group and survey guides.
Analysis reports on user feedback accessibility and technical performance.
Strategy brief summarizing findings recommendations and visionsetting outcomes.
Final brief documenting next steps for USIP.org.
