Job Description
Our client is a digital platform for crossborder commodity transactions enhancing the value of African exports by facilitating processes like aggregation quality assurance and logistics while ensuring ethical procurement. It connects domestic supply with global demand helping businesses overcome challenges and expand their reach worldwide.
Job Purpose
The Supply Lead Solid Minerals will oversee the sourcing aggregation and supply of solid minerals to ensure a consistent flow of materials for local and international markets. This role involves coordinating with miners suppliers transporters and other stakeholders to manage the procurement and delivery of highquality mineral resources. It requires expertise in the solid minerals supply chain including supplier identification negotiating terms and managing logistics to ensure timely delivery.
Job Responsibilities
Sourcing and Aggregation:
Develop and maintain relationships with miners suppliers and aggregators of solid minerals.
Oversee collection aggregation and grading to meet quality standards.
Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to ensure a steady supply of minerals such as limestone iron ore copper and more.
Supply Chain Management:
Manage endtoend supply chain processes from sourcing to delivery.
Coordinate with logistics providers for timely transportation.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for mineral handling and transportation.
Quality Control and Assurance:
Monitor material quality to meet industry standards and customer specifications.
Implement quality assurance procedures at aggregation points.
Collaborate with laboratory teams for periodic testing of minerals.
Inventory and Stock Management:
Manage stock levels across locations to meet customer demand.
Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile stock.
Implement procedures to minimize loss damage or wastage.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
Build strong relationships with suppliers and vendors for consistent collaboration.
Identify new suppliers or mining sites to expand the supply network.
Evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality delivery and pricing standards are met.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze data on sourcing and supply performance to identify improvements.
Prepare detailed reports on supply chain performance inventory levels and supplier trends.
Special Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain management or procurement in the solid minerals industry.
Experience with minerals like lithium tantalite tin and lead.
Strong knowledge of sourcing procurement and logistics in the solid minerals market.
Excellent negotiation communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
Strong analytical skills and experience with datadriven decisionmaking.
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fastpaced environment.
Proficient in supply chain management software and MS Office Suite.
Familiarity with industryspecific regulations and quality standards.
