Job Description
As a Project Manager you will:
- Take full responsibility for the definition documentation and successful completion of complex projects with significant business impact and highrisk dependencies.
- Prepare and submit Project Proposals support the release of Contractual Packages and contribute to the Source Selection process.
- Monitor manage and control projects through to completion including transition into operations.
- Provide effective leadership to the project team ensuring performance aligns with agreed tolerances.
- Capture and manage resource plans required to support the project.
- Ensure project assurance is executed according to agency procedures.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed within agreed cost schedule and quality parameters.
- Manage any change requests using appropriate processes.
- Ensure projects are formally closed and reviewed with lessons learned recorded.
- Provide regular accurate project status reports.
What You Bring to the Table:
- A Master of Science (MSc) degree in a related subject (such as Computer Sciences) from a nationally recognized/certified university.
- 5 years of postrelated experience.
- A recognized formal project management qualification such as PRINCE2 PMP or Agile PM. Relevant expertise and experience can compensate for the lack of formal qualifications.
- Experience in project management within complex IT environments.
- Experience with agile project management methods and agile software development.
- Experience writing complex statements of work for softwareintensive projects.
- A thorough understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience in the application of Agile Project Management methodology to C4ISR software acquisition.
- Military domain knowledge in areas such as Maritime Land Special Operations Operations Planning Exercise and Training Joint and Time Sensitive Targeting and Situational Awareness.
- Experience in P3M and procurement management in commercial and/or government organizations.
- Knowledge and experience in stateoftheart technologies relevant to information processing and transfer.
- Knowledge of establishing and reviewing export control and nondisclosure agreements.
- Understanding of service management and the ITIL framework.
- Prior experience working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
You should possess the ability to:
- Plan and drive scoping requirements definition and prioritization activities for large complex initiatives.
- Select adopt and adapt appropriate requirements definition and management methods tools and techniques.
- Contribute to the development of organizational methods and standards for requirements management.
- Obtain input from and agreement to requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Negotiate with stakeholders to manage competing priorities and conflicts.
- Establish requirements baselines and ensure changes to requirements are investigated and managed.
- Manage user experience evaluation of systems products services or devices.
- Assure that security usability and accessibility requirements have been met.
- Advise on what to evaluate the type of evaluation to use and the extent of user involvement required.
- Work iteratively with design teams to ensure feedback from evaluations is understood and acted upon.
- Advise on achieving required usability and accessibility levels of specific designs or prototypes.
- Prioritize input for future user research.
