Job Description

The NCDOT isseeking experienced PowerBuilder contractor developers (>5 years experience)for a 12month engagement to replace an outdated 3rd party software tool used as part of a missioncritical application called HiCAMS.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) isseeking experienced PowerBuilder contractor developers (>5 years experience)for a 12month engagement for the Engineering Application Services Department(EAS) to enhance and maintain a missioncritical application for the departmentcalled HiCAMS.

HiCAMS is a custom clientserver PowerBuilder applicationused to track work materials and payments on North Carolina Division ofHighways Construction projects.

The initial assignments will be to code/test data windows toreplace over 100 sample test result spreadsheet formats that were coded usingan outdated 3^rd party software tool. Additional work will involve coding/testing bug fixes and otherfunctional enhancements to the system.

This individual should have experience with standard developmentlife cycle including requirements gathering design development unit &system testing quality assurance testing as well as experience with businessprocess transformation. DesignSharePoint and webbased solutions to support Preconstruction and Scopingbusiness processes that are valuable to the transportation lifecycle

Required Skills: (5 years)

Experience as a PowerBuilder developer usingPB10 or more recent versions.

Strong SQL skills (HiCAMS uses a Sybase databasebut SQL skills in any database platform are acceptable)

Strong Microsoft Suite experience particularlyExcel

Experience working in a remote softwaredevelopment environment

Strong analytical conceptual and technicalskills

Positive interpersonal skills coupled with anindependent selfmotivated work ethic

Ability to work with a custom baseclass

Proven written and verbal communication skillsincluding the ability to explain business processes to IT users and ITapplications to business users

Preferred Skills:

Development experience in C#

Development experience in Java

Experience coding stored procedures and triggers(any database)

Experience developing in a Visual Studioenvironment

Data conversion experience
