Location: Boksburg Gauteng

Position Overview:
Are you passionate about HR and ready to make an impactful difference in a fastpaced dynamic environment We are seeking a highly motivated bilingual MandarinEnglish HR Specialist to join our client's growing team in Boksburg. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the HR function optimizing recruitment processes enhancing employee relations and driving the company’s HR strategies—all while creating a positive and inclusive work culture.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Staffing

  • Take charge of the full recruitment lifecycle from identifying top talent to conducting interviews sourcing Mandarinspeaking professionals and ensuring smooth onboarding.
  • Craft and implement recruitment strategies that attract a diverse range of candidates with a special focus on Mandarinspeaking professionals in the industrial and construction sectors.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to align staffing requirements with business needs ensuring a seamless recruitment experience.

2. Employee Relations

  • Be the key point of contact for Mandarinspeaking employees providing guidance and support on a range of HR matters and fostering an inclusive company culture.
  • Mediate conflicts advise on employee grievances and ensure communication flows smoothly between Mandarinspeaking employees and management in both languages.
  • Promote a positive and engaging work environment where all employees feel valued and heard.

3. Performance Management

  • Oversee and enhance the performance management system ensuring clear and actionable feedback is provided to Mandarin and Englishspeaking employees alike.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews goalsetting sessions and development planning—empowering employees to achieve their personal and professional best.
  • Identify growth opportunities for employees and facilitate ongoing training and coaching.

4. HR Administration & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies and procedures align with South African labor laws (BCEA LRA EEA) while remaining culturally sensitive to both English and Mandarinspeaking employees.
  • Manage employee records payroll and benefits administration ensuring accuracy and transparency in both languages.
  • Uphold the highest standards of HR compliance and best practices keeping the workforce wellinformed of their rights and responsibilities.

5. Training & Development

  • Assess the development needs of employees particularly Mandarin speakers and create targeted training programs to boost their skills and career progression.
  • Promote crosscultural training initiatives to enhance communication teamwork and productivity between Mandarin and Englishspeaking teams.
  • Evaluate training outcomes and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

6. Health & Safety

  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to ensure all employees including Mandarinspeaking staff are fully informed of workplace safety protocols.
  • Ensure safety communications are clear concise and available in both Mandarin and English minimizing risk and enhancing awareness.
  • Facilitate safety training programs to promote a culture of health and wellbeing.

7. HR Reporting & Analytics

  • Deliver insightful HR reports on recruitment performance metrics employee engagement and retention with a special focus on Mandarinspeaking employees.
  • Leverage HR analytics to spot trends address challenges and make datadriven recommendations to optimize HR strategies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Industrial Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience: 35 years of handson HR experience ideally in the industrial or construction sectors.
  • Languages: Fluency in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of South African labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HR software as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint).
  • Desirable: Previous experience in a multicultural diverse work environment is a strong plus.
