Job Description: Summer Sustainability Consulting Associate
Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and driven Summer Sustainability Consulting Associate to join our team for a 10 12 week internship. This is an exciting opportunity to work on highimpact sustainability projects with leading organizations helping them reduce their environmental footprint optimize resource usage and achieve their sustainability goals. As a Summer Associate you will assist in developing sustainability strategies data analysis and reporting and contribute to client engagements across a variety of industries. This internship offers a handson experience in the rapidly growing field of sustainability consulting.
- Assist in the development of sustainability strategies that help clients reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.
- Support the creation of sustainability roadmaps and action plans that align with clients business goals including emissions reduction energy management and waste minimization.
- Work with senior consultants to evaluate clients current sustainability efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Collect and analyze data on energy consumption carbon emissions water usage and waste production to evaluate sustainability performance.
- Assist in developing and presenting sustainability reports dashboards and presentations that highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) and sustainability progress.
- Help track clients sustainability goals and performance ensuring they meet set targets and identifying areas for further action.
- Support clients in measuring their carbon footprint and identifying strategies for reducing emissions through energy efficiency renewable energy and lowcarbon technologies.
- Contribute to identifying and recommending ways to optimize resource consumption (e.g. water energy raw materials) and minimize waste.
- Assist in conducting life cycle assessments (LCAs) and other environmental impact assessments to suggest areas of improvement.
- Assist in evaluating the sustainability of clients supply chains including sourcing practices production processes and distribution networks.
- Help identify opportunities for clients to reduce their supply chains environmental footprint and improve the sustainability of supplier practices.
- Support the development of sustainable procurement strategies to ensure the environmental and social responsibility of suppliers.
- Conduct research on emerging sustainability trends new technologies and best practices in various industries to help inform client strategies.
- Benchmark client performance against industry standards to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay updated on environmental regulations and sustainability standards (e.g. GRI CDP ISO 14001) that impact clients operations.
- Prepare presentations reports and other materials that communicate sustainability findings and recommendations clearly and effectively.
- Participate in client meetings and workshops helping to facilitate discussions and offering insights on sustainability challenges and opportunities.
- Assist in tracking project milestones ensuring client expectations are met and delivering highquality work.
- Work with senior consultants to brainstorm and contribute innovative sustainability solutions for clients.
- Help identify and evaluate new technologies strategies or systems that can support clients in achieving their sustainability goals.
- Contribute to the development of new tools or frameworks for sustainability analysis and reporting.
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Sustainability Environmental Science Business Administration Engineering or a related field.
- Strong academic performance with a demonstrated interest in sustainability environmental management or corporate responsibility.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data analysis or sustainability software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex information.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g. GRI CDP) and environmental regulations is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced team environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proactive resultsoriented with a passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Selfmotivated with a desire to learn and contribute to sustainability efforts.
- Adaptable and comfortable working on a variety of sustainabilityrelated projects across industries.
