Tasks
Primary responsibility is to create and execute advanced simulation models analyze results and drive iterative design improvements to support the development and validation of transcatheter mitral valve devices in collaboration with the R&D team in Vienna.
- Develop and implement advanced simulation models for product design and validation.
- Conduct computational analyses such as finite element analysis (FEA) and fluidstructure interaction (FSI).
- Validate simulation results against experimental data and use findings to refine designs.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including R&D Quality and Regulatory to ensure simulations meet technical and compliance standards.
- Document simulation processes methodologies and outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements (ISO 13485 FDA).
- Research and integrate the latest advancements in simulation technology to drive innovation.
- Support physical testing by providing insights derived from simulation data.
- Evaluate and manage external simulation partners and tools.
- Actively participate in design reviews and contribute to product development strategies.
Requirements
- Masters degree in mechanical engineering biomedical engineering or related fields.
- 2 years of experience in simulation engineering preferably in the medical device industry.
- Expertise in simulation tools such as ANSYS Abaqus or COMSOL with proficiency in CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) fluid dynamics and material properties.
- Ability to validate simulation results with experimental data and iterate designs effectively.
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced startup environment both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills to present technical results to crossfunctional teams clearly.
