Job Description: Senior Mezzanine Financing Associate
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Mezzanine Financing Associate to join our private credit investment team. This role provides an opportunity to take a leadership position in sourcing structuring and managing mezzanine debt and equity investments across various industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit analysis financial modeling and transaction execution along with a proven track record in mezzanine financing. As a Senior Associate you will collaborate with senior leadership mentor junior team members and play a critical role in the firms investment strategy.
- Identify and evaluate mezzanine financing opportunities through market research and networking.
- Conduct comprehensive credit analysis including financial statement reviews cash flow assessments and risk evaluation.
- Develop and oversee complex financial models to evaluate capital structures returns and riskadjusted performance.
- Prepare and present detailed investment memoranda and recommendations to internal investment committees.
- Lead key aspects of transaction execution including structuring negotiating terms and drafting loan agreements.
- Collaborate with external advisors (legal financial operational) to ensure thorough due diligence and smooth transaction closings.
- Manage communication and coordination among stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
- Monitor the performance of portfolio investments analyzing financial metrics covenant compliance and operational performance.
- Work with portfolio company management teams to implement valuecreation strategies and address challenges.
- Support refinancing restructuring and exit strategies as required.
- Prepare regular portfolio performance updates and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and investors.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to refine investment strategies and identify emerging opportunities in mezzanine financing.
- Stay updated on market trends economic conditions and regulatory developments affecting private credit and mezzanine investments.
- Contribute to the development of sectorspecific investment theses and strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior team members providing training in financial modeling credit analysis and transaction management.
- Foster a collaborative and highperforming team culture contributing to the overall success of the investment team.
- Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Accounting Business Administration or a related field (required).
- Advanced degree (MBA or Masters in Finance) or CFA designation is preferred but not required.
- 5 7 years of experience in mezzanine financing private credit investment banking or related fields.
- Proven expertise in credit underwriting financial modeling and transaction execution.
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills with proficiency in Excel.
- Strong understanding of mezzanine debt subordinated loans and hybrid capital structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Highly organized and detailoriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in financial databases and tools such as Bloomberg S&P Capital IQ or similar platforms.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and resultsoriented approach.
- Strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Passion for mezzanine financing and private credit investment strategies.
