Job Description: Summer Venture Capital Associate
Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven and entrepreneurial individual to join our team as a Summer Venture Capital Associate. This internship offers an immersive experience in the venture capital industry providing the opportunity to work on all aspects of the investment process from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to supporting portfolio companies. As a Summer Associate you will work closely with senior members of the team gaining exposure to highgrowth startups and innovative industries.
- Conduct indepth market research to identify emerging trends sectors and companies aligned with the firms investment thesis.
- Evaluate deal flow by assessing pitch decks financial models and business plans of early and growthstage startups.
- Build and maintain relationships with founders industry experts and ecosystem stakeholders to generate deal flow.
- Perform due diligence on potential investments including market analysis competitive benchmarking and evaluation of product and technology.
- Develop and refine financial models to analyze growth potential scalability and unit economics.
- Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations for internal investment committees.
- Collaborate with portfolio companies to solve operational challenges and implement growth strategies.
- Analyze and track key performance metrics (KPIs) to monitor portfolio company performance.
- Support portfolio companies in fundraising market expansion or other strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to the firms thought leadership by creating market trend reports sector deep dives and blog posts.
- Work closely with the investment team to refine investment theses and prioritize highpotential sectors.
- Participate in team meetings brainstorming sessions and strategic discussions.
- Currently pursuing an MBA or advanced degree in Business Finance Economics or a related field.
- A strong academic track record with demonstrated interest in venture capital startups or entrepreneurship.
- 2 4 years of prior work experience in venture capital private equity investment banking management consulting or a highgrowth startup.
- Experience analyzing business models conducting market research and evaluating financial performance.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling and evaluating unit economics and scalability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to create polished presentations and investment memos.
- Familiarity with venture capital tools such as PitchBook Crunchbase or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and data visualization tools.
- Passion for technology innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Selfstarter with the ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills to engage with founders and ecosystem stakeholders.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
