Quality Controller Food Company (Dry Goods)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Quality Controller to join our team at Company Name a growing food company specializing in dry goods with an inhouse distribution department. This position is key in ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards throughout the entire production process. As part of a small to mediumsized enterprise (SME) you will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments ensuring that quality assurance (QA) checks are properly carried out both by yourself and your colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Quality Control Checks: Regularly perform quality control inspections on all dry goods to ensure they meet company specifications industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee QA Processes: Monitor and ensure that other employees in production and distribution also adhere to established QA protocols and standards.
- Ensure Consistency: Work closely with the production team to ensure consistency in product quality ensuring that any deviations are quickly addressed and documented.
- Report and Document: Maintain accurate records of quality control results noncompliance issues corrective actions and any necessary improvements.
- Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to employees to ensure proper quality checks are conducted throughout all stages of production and distribution.
- Investigate and Resolve Issues: Investigate quality issues and complaints identify root causes and assist in developing and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with Distribution: Work closely with the distribution team to ensure that the products shipped meet the required quality standards and assist in the handling of any qualityrelated returns or issues.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Working Environment: Ensure that all areas of the plant comply with health and safety regulations including cleanliness and hygiene standards in addition to quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Support a culture of continuous improvement by recommending ways to improve processes reduce waste and enhance product quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role ideally within an SME environment (preferred over corporate experience).
- Strong understanding of quality control systems and food safety regulations specifically related to dry goods.
- Experience with quality management software or tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for spotting deviations from product specifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with different departments and staff levels.
- A proactive approach to problemsolving and a commitment to delivering highquality products.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in a Quality Control role within the food manufacturing industry working in the plant.
- Knowledge of industryspecific standards and certifications (e.g. HACCP ISO etc.) is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further qualifications in food science quality management or related fields are advantageous.
